Who should we go to now?
Many of you have asked us who you should use for local deliveries now that we are no longer trading. Our recommendation (as always) is Alisons Flowers who is based in Strathaven, delivering to Lanark and the surrounding area. They share the same ethos of customer service, floral design and quality.
Sorry, but its time for us to go!
After a fab 11 years of business, our family run florists Floral 'n' Hardy are saying Good Bye to Lanark.
As with all dreams and ambitions our dream has grown and moved onto a new path, leaving us with a difficult, but obvious, decision to close the door on Floral 'n' Hardy for the final time on Saturday the 6th of August. After all the effort and commitment that it takes to make a business successful our team will be sad to see her go, but with all new journeys, especially when children are involved, it will bring a lot of new experiences to treasure and remember.
Floral 'n' Hardy was established in 1990 with June Wilson as one of the key members of staff. After more than a decade of managing the front of shop, June, along with myself (her daughter Lisa), purchased Floral 'n' Hardy in 2001 with the aim of building upon it's memorable name and taking the business to new heights.
We have consistently strived to provide exceptional service and creative floral designs for our clients over the years, from small take home gifts, to creations for private parties and functions including several Lanimer Balls. We have also been involved in large events such as the Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards, the Hilton Foundation event held at the Hilton Hotel Glasgow, and Fraser's Department Store's 160th year Anniversary Celebrations, all of which we had great fun doing;from designing our displays to compliment chosen themes, to setting up on the day of the events.
In 2006 with a quest to grow Floral 'n' Hardy's burgeoning reputation we entered the Flower Shop of the Year Awards, a national competition to identify the very best in the industry, judged by a panel of experts from the Flower Council of Holland. As the competition progressed we achieved the Silver and Gold accolades, but were surprised and ecstatic (to say the least) to be the only Scottish florists to then be awarded the highest accolade in the competition, the Platinum Award of Excellence. A real success for our team.
My love for design, along with creativity and experience, lead me to specialise in the Wedding and Events side of Floral 'n' Hardy, taking our events team to many beautiful locations throughout Scotland. This passion brought our team further award success in 2006 with our first VOWS Award nomination coming from thrilled Brides and Grooms who took their time to nominate us for the exceptional service we had provided them with. In 2007 we were over the moon to win the VOWs Awards, and went on to win again in 2008, continuing to be nominated in 2009.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our clients and customers for their continued support over the last 11 years, you have made this an experience never to be forgotten. It's with a mixed heart that we say our last farewell to Lanark and all our clients near and far and wish you all the very best fortune in the years to come.
